Suppliers price cross-border travel as a paid permit in three tiers, and Ulcinj is the rare base where the middle tier is the natural pick rather than an upgrade. Tier 1 covers Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Serbia (no Green Card needed), suited to a Trebinje run or a Croatia hop via Debeli Brijeg. Tier 2 adds Albania and Kosovo with a Green Card provided, and from Ulcinj that means the Sukobin-Muriqan crossing 12 km south, Shkodër in 30 minutes, and Tirana reachable in around 2 hours 30. Every booking includes the free Minimum (third-party liability) cover with a typical €100 deposit and VAT. Insurance upgrades are paid extras: Basic, Full, and a no-deposit Full Plus. Unlimited mileage is included on most cars (376 of around 380); each listing shows the cover, mileage policy and any extras before you confirm.
Confirmed extras suit the cross-border driver and the day-tripper crowd that defines Ulcinj. A wireless hotspot or local SIM-card keeps you on Montenegrin data once you cross at Sukobin, avoiding Albanian roaming charges on a Shkodër day. Three sizes of child seat are stocked for families heading to Velika Plaža or Ada Bojana. An electric scooter with charger handles the stepped lanes inside Stari Grad fortress where cars are awkward. Free cancellation is available on selected cars (around 176 of approximately 380, marked clearly in the search results). On those cars, the full advance payment is refunded if you cancel more than 24 hours before pickup; cancellations within 24 hours of pickup are non-refundable.
Most cars hold a €100 deposit at pickup. 47 cars on the platform require no deposit at all, and a further 124 offer a no-deposit option as a paid service. Choosing the Full Plus insurance tier also waives the deposit. The exact amount (if any) is shown clearly before you book.
